Whota you gonna do?
You sit on a platform and convince people,
but what tangibly can you do going forward?
Ok. How about agreeing,
all of us together here, people in Berlin...
and I spoke to a similiarly sized
wonderfull audience in Berlin,
which is astonishing and they were Germans,
they were not Greek migrants ;)
similar in Barcelona, in Portugal.
There is a thirst and a hunger for something
extremely radical to happen in Europe,
like for instance Democracy.
It's a very radical idea!
If you think about it, Democracy is the rule
by the under-priviledged.
Because the under-priviledged are the majority.
To the extend that Democracy
is based on majority rule,
we should have a system where
the under-priviledged wield political power,
but that is a philosophical question.
What should we be doing?
What should we agree upon?
What does this process
of Democratizing Europe mean?
How about agreeing on what we shall demand
for next week, for the next six months...
for the next two years
and for the next decade.
Let me just flash this out very briefly.
I would like us to demand, collectively,
as Europeans, as European citizens,
that we shall all agree that every time
Cameron, Tsipras, Merkel meet...
that their meeting should be...
livestreamed!
and we should be able
to listen to what they say.
How about demanding that
the European Central bank,
governing board meetings...
record minutes which are then published
on the internet.
We don't need new institutions or treaties for this,
we can agree this for next week! Tomorrow!
How about publishing on the internet
all the chapters of the TPP trade discussions?
